Larry Rasmussen, Union Theological Seminary, New York says, “The forces shaping world Christianity are multiracial, multicultural, and non-Western.  Future Faith presents them in highly readable chapters, spanning every major short- and
long-term trend.  While the scope and content offer something for everyone, for white Christians in the United States, whether evangelical or formerly- mainline, Future Faith is simply mandatory. Take, learn, discuss, and make plans.”

Spiritual Guides for the 21st Century: Faith Stories by the Protestant Reformers by K. James Stein Sundays 11:30am – 12:30pm, March 10th – April 14th, 2019, room 7 led by Jan Brown, cost TBD. The Protestant Reformation comes to life through these spiritual stories of the individuals who led the reform movements. In making history come alive, Stein shows that the spiritual issues of that day are contemporary and relevant today. This volume describes the world of the Reformation.

Stein devotes one chapter each to: Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin, Men Simons, and Thomas Cranmer. Each chapter includes a prayer or a hymn written by the reformer. A time line and map of Europe help readers understand the issues by showing where and when the events took place.

Discussion questions for each chapter make this a valuable study for adult groups. Stein shows readers how the cloud of witnesses referred to in the book of Hebrews spans the centuries from the Bible to the present. We are excited about these amazing opportunities to grow in faith in God through Jesus Christ and meet together with others for study, prayer, and discussion.
